Packaging and Labelling

It is important that all deliveries comply with the packaging and labelling requirements to avoid repackaging and other unnecessary handling.

 

Correct Packaging and Labelling Are Essential for an Efficient Goods Flow

Our warehouses and handling equipment are designed to accommodate specific standard dimensions and pallet sizes. Deliveries that exceed these dimensions or are inadequately labelled in accordance with the applicable requirements create unnecessary additional handling at our warehouses.

 

When goods are stacked and packed correctly in terms of height, width, pallet size and pallet type, the risk of consignments becoming unstable or overturning during transport or warehouse handling is significantly reduced, thereby helping to protect both personnel and materiel.

 

Accurate labelling is fundamental to our inventory management processes. It enables us to receive goods into our logistics systems, allocate them to the correct storage location and identify individual items, ensuring that inventory records are updated accurately when goods are issued to end users.

 

Deliveries Requiring Special Handling or Storage

Before dispatch, Suppliers should coordinate with DALO if the goods exceed the footprint of a standard EUR-EPAL pallet or require special handling or specific storage conditions. Early coordination helps ensure that appropriate arrangements can be made prior to delivery.

 

 

Please Also Note

  • All required documentation must be readily accessible on the pallet without the need to remove or damage the outer packaging.

  • All crates, boxes and other packaging units must be clearly marked with the appropriate handling instructions, for example: This Way Up, Fragile, Handle with Care, Lifting Instructions, and any other relevant handling symbols.

  • Pallets must not exceed a height of 120 cm. The maximum permitted load weight is 500 kg or 800 kg, depending on the applicable pallet specification.

  • All goods must be marked in accordance with the relevant NATO STANAG requirements, where applicable.
