Apply well in advance

Security clearances are issued by the Danish Defence Intelligence Service (DDIS). To obtain a security clearance, your company must have an existing or prospective contractual relationship with the Danish Armed Forces that demonstrates a legitimate operational requirement for access to classified information or classified work. It is not possible to apply for a security clearance solely in anticipation of a future requirement.

Applications for security clearance must be submitted following a formal recommendation from the relevant Danish defence authority or the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI).

Suppliers are encouraged to initiate the security clearance process as early as possible, as processing times may be significant.
